Wildlife Management Areas have come a long way

One purchase of land in 1941 has blossomed into something that now serves as a home for some of Florida’s most well-known and threatened wildlife species. It also provides a place for hunters and anglers to enjoy while allowing others to take advantage of golden wildlife viewing opportunities.

Wildlife Management Areas now cover nearly 6 million acres of land in the state and the 75th anniversary of the first WMA is being celebrated this year.
