Week 3 of the 12th Beaches to Woodlands Tour of Santa Rosa

Temperatures are forecast to drop into the 70s this weekend just in time for a full slate of activities for Week 3 of the 12th Annual Beaches to Woodlands Tour of Santa Rosa County.

“Along with our monthlong corn mazes and farm fun at Sweet Seasons, Sonshine and Holland Farms, we have many other events that are suitable for the entire family, said tour coordinator Karen Harrell. “This weekend the Haunted Hayrides begin at another north Santa Rosa destination, Whispering Pines Christmas Tree Farm. Families just love to get out and explore these farms and the many activities they offer.”

A perennial favorite is the annual Monarch Madness Butterfly Festival (Oct. 16-17) at the Panhandle Butterfly House in Navarre.

The annual Fenner McConnell/Matt Wantz Blackwater Heritage Century Ride – “Fenner Ride” (Oct. 17), sponsored by Big Brothers/Big Sisters and the West Florida Wheelman, will be staged in Milton.

Antique car-lovers will enjoy the 15th annual Navarre Car, Truck, Bike and Craft Show (Oct. 17).

Along with the haunted hayrides, Whispering Pines Christmas Tree Farm also will have concerts, bonfires and other activities (Oct. 16-18, 23-25 and 30-31) and the farm will be open at 9 a.m. daily for Christmas tree tagging.

Juana’s Pagodas on Navarre Beach will host the annual Chili Cookoff and Volleyball Tournament (Oct. 18.), and runners will start in Pensacola and end in Gulf Breeze for the Bridge to Bridge 5K (Oct. 17). Coldwater Gardens, located north of Milton, will offer the workshop: “Shiitake Mushroom Cultivation” (Oct. 17) and “Salad Lovers Work” (Oct. 25), using fresh ingredients grown on-site.

The first Navarre Women’s Expo (Oct. 17) is a daylong event featuring Hollywood actress and Emmy-nominee Lourdes Colon as the headline speaker.

Sweet Season Farms has pink pumpkins available for sale and Sonshine Farms has breast cancer awareness day Oct. 17 with $1 per admission donated to the cause.
