Contractors May 7 finished work at the intersection of Navarre Beach Causeway and Highway 98 that is expected to help alleviate long lines of traffic that often develop as residents and visitors try to depart Navarre Beach for the mainland.
An additional lane has been added for motorists, which allows vehicles to either turn left or travel straight through the intersection to restaurants on the north-side of Highway 98.
Santa Rosa County Engineer Roger Blaylock said he had hoped the project would be completed before the end of April, but weather delayed the project. “Our inspector was out there with them until 8 p.m. Monday (May 6). They were doing everything they could to get the project completed.”
