For weeks and weeks my husband had been complaining about his stabbing, stinging, itching mosquito bites and resultant welts. He said what made this year different was the mosquitoes were more ferocious, seemed to be much larger and were dive bombing him.
At first I thought it was a just an aberration or a purposeful boyhood ploy to garner attention.
He resorted to wearing a small elasticized mosquito net outside which he draped over a large cowboy hat when he grilled, mowed, raked or pressure washed – even in broad daylight.
Still, my denial continued.
