Area residents were in Navarre Park before 10 a.m. Saturday waiting for the Panhandle Butterfly House to open for the season.
Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Council Director Kate Wilkes did the honors of cutting the ribbon.
“We promote Santa Rosa County as a family-friendly vacation destination and what could be any more family-friendly than the butterfly house,” she said prior to cutting the ribbon.
The Butterfly House is open 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and is available for group visits by appointment Mondays through Wednesdays.
