Tourism is booming in Santa Rosa County, Tourist Development Director Julie Morgan said at the Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce’s monthly breakfast July 31.
“We are flying higher than we ever have been,” she told the audience. “So we really need to be proud of ourselves.”
Morgan’s office is responsible for promoting Santa Rosa County tourism by coordinating efforts with the county’s tourist development council.
Morgan said bed taxes continue to increase over last year.
“In May, they were 14 percent over last May,” she said. “We saw a 20 percent increase in February. I’m really anxious to see the June and July numbers; I think they’re going to be phenomenal.”
