Ranee Roberts was looking forward to her quiet wedding on Navarre Beach next month. The Alabama resident and her fiancé, Chris Phillips, invited around 30 people to the Sept. 26 ceremony.
So when she received a call from the county a few weeks ago, before she even knew the reason, she told the man on the other end to “just fix it.”
“He was a really nice guy, and he said he was calling because I rented the pavilion on Sept. 26, and I just said, ‘Well you need to fix it,’” Roberts said.
But then she found out the reason for the call – plans were shaping up for Country on the Sound, the two-day music festival with headliners Big & Rich and Trace Adkins, the same weekend as her quiet beach wedding.
During the course of that phone call, her intimate ceremony became a day she’d share with 4,500 or so other people.
