Despite colder temperatures, members of the self-proclaimed “church without walls” bundled up and came out to sing worship songs, pray and hear sermon in the parking lot of Navarre Beach Pier Sunday, Nov. 27.
Navarre Beachside Church is celebrating its 22nd anniversary this year, and for all 22 of those years Pastor John Kern has been leading the congregation with saltwater surrounding all sides.
Kern said it is important to take the services to the people.
“We wanted to have an outreach ministry to those that might not go to a church, or people take a vacation from church when they go on vacation,” he said. “We minister to the fisher people hanging out on the pier. We have people in the pavilion, our homeless community. We want to reach out where the people are.”
