Heavy law enforcement activity preceded drowning

A 1 1/2-year-old boy died Oct.7 after he drowned in a pool located at 1755 Briza Del Mar Drive. Law enforcement officials believe he exited the home through a pet access door.

Deputy Rich Aloy, spokesman for Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office, said the drowning appeared to be accidental. However, Aloy said an active investigation involving sheriff’s office and Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) investigators was underway at the time of the incident.
