Teen arrested for taking gun to school

PoliceThe Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office reports a 13-year-old boy was arrested Tuesday after taking a loaded handgun onto a school bus and the Crestview High School campus. Jeremiah Murphy of Crestview allegedly fired the pistol after getting off the bus at the end of the school day and was arrested later at his home.

He is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, having a firearm on school property, discharge of a firearm in public and grand theft. Having a firearm on school property is a third-degree felony.
