Gulf Breeze man faces max sentence for child porn

Thomas E. Matassa, 24, of Gulf Breeze was sentenced Friday to 20 years in prison for receipt of child pornography, the maximum sentence allowable under federal law.

The charges were filed after a forensic examination of his laptop revealed hundreds of child porn images as well as online conversations of a sexual nature with children, according to a statement of facts signed by Matassa and released by U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Florida Christopher Canova’s office.
