Advances in prevention and treatment of breast cancer have paved the way to higher survival rates recently.
In the last decade scientists have been better able to detect the small molecular profile differences from patient to patient, which has enabled more personalized treatment, said David E. Mann Jr., M.D., Hematology Oncology , Baptist Medical Group.
Also notable in treatment advances is the introduction of cancer rehabilitation or wellness programs throughout the country, nearby at the Andrews Institute. The programs, proven to lessen the chance for breast cancer recurrence, create a personalized program with patients that include physical therapy and lifestyle modifications.
