Santa Rosa reports West Nile Virus case

dohThe Florida Department of Health in Santa Rosa County issued Monday a mosquito-borne illness advisory after receiving a report of a case of West Nile Virus in a Santa Rosa County resident.

The health department reports that it is believed the virus was acquired locally, since the individual had not traveled out of the county recently. A suspected case of West Nile Virus was reported Friday in Escambia County.
