Holley Navarre Water System customers experienced discolored water and low pressure following a valve break May 28. No boil water notice has been issued.
CEO Rob Williamson told the Navarre Press that they have received several calls concerning the impacts. Water system employees are currently flushing lines throughout the system.
“Crews are out there flushing the lines,” he said. “Everything should return to normal by tomorrow.”
Williamson explained that when the water pressure in lines across the system changed, sediments in the line were kicked up. He reiterated that there is not a boil water notice in effect.
“There was no line break or contaminants introduced,” he said.
Located at well site 4, the valve had been a recent replacement. The previous valve had been functional for 25 years, but after a replacement was installed earlier this month, it failed Williamson said.
“It was a completely random fluke,” he said.
All customers should expect the system to be back to normal by Thursday.
