A Gulf Breeze man turns himself in to Santa Rosa County Jail
Christopher Jason Traffanstead from Gulf Breeze, age 39, who the Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office was looking for on an active warrant, turned himself in to the Santa Rosa County Jail on April 7.
Traffanstead’s warrant included 3 Capitol Felony charges for sexual assault and lewd lascivious behavior on a juvenile.
The juvenile’s statement contains graphic details of the occurrences that began in 2014, including the use of handcuffs and other sexual materials, being beaten by Traffanstead and put in a tub of ice to cover up the redness and bruising.
Traffanstead was previously arrested on Oct. 31, 2015 on child abuse charges when the child came to school with severe bruising to the child’s back, buttocks, and both sides of thighs. In the October statement taken, the child spoke about having his clothes removed and being spanked and put into a tub of ice.
On March 31, the child was asked why he didn’t tell anyone about what Traffanstead was doing the first time they spoke with him and his reply was, “They never asked and I was too embarrassed to tell them.”
