Teens arrested for burglary, grand theft

Three Fort Walton teens face weapons, grand theft and burglary charges after robberies in Navarre ended in their arrests near Cayo Grande Apartments Tuesday morning, Aug. 23.

Santa Rosa Sheriff’s office has identified the suspects as Donald Fuggerson, 16, Isiah Soto, 15, and Tyrell Marshall, 15.

Sheriff’s office reports indicate the three teens attempted to break-in to a home on Commodore Street at 6:57 a.m. The victim reported seeing two males enter her garage where they rummaged through the two vehicles inside and stole a cell phone.

Upon seeing the victims were home, the suspects fled in a white Cadillac allegedly stolen from Okaloosa County.

The male homeowner attempted to follow the Cadillac, but he lost track of them on Highway 98. The homeowner was able to provide officers with a description of the vehicle and the direction it was heading.

An officer in a patrol car later spotted the vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop, but the Cadillac fled, swerving around other vehicles through an active school zone, before making an illegal U-turn through a median on Highway 98.

A second call at 7:17 a.m. indicated the vehicle was in Chablis Circle where officers believe the suspects committed another break-in.

When officers arrived, the teens fled on foot toward the neighboring apartment complex, Cayo Grande Apartments. Gulf Breeze Police K-9 units were dispatched to the area and a police perimeter was established.

Soto and Fuggerson were detained at the apartments after a brief search.

Marshall was spotted by officers walking near Highway 98 and was pursued by officers. When it was discovered that Marshall was armed with a 9mm handgun also reported stolen from Okaloosa, an officer used his Taser on Marshall and he was taken into custody. Marshall did not fire the gun.

All three suspects face charges of first degree felony armed burglary, third degree felony larceny grand theft and misdemeanor obstruction of an officer with violence. All three face felony probation violations.

Marshall faces an additional charge of second degree felony possession of a weapon with a felony.  No bond has been posted.
