Stabbing investigation complete, still no arrests

More than a month after the stabbing occurred, the Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit has completed it’s investigation into the death of 19 year old Daniel Jebadiah Bubanas.

Yet officers have still yet to name a culprit, and no arrests have been made.

Bubanas was stabbed during a night of partying at a popular hangout off Bergren Road in Midway Dec. 16 around 10:45 p.m.

According to witness statements, there was a fight among several individuals that proceeded the stabbing. Cole Tolbert, 17, also suffered multiple stab wounds in the incident.

According to a press release sent out by the sheriff’s office earlier this week, the completed investigative file has been handed to the State Attorney’s Office. The State Attorney’s Office will determine whether or not to press charges in the case. The press release said this process could take weeks to complete.
