Preliminary site plans for a commercial shopping complex in Navarre were revealed Thursday.
The development of a vacant 33 acre parcel at the north western corner of Highway 87 and U.S. Highway 98 was announced in February. The site plans were included in an application for land development code variances by property owner Navarre Beach Crossings LLC, owned by Craig Kruse and Merg Hoffman.
The plans, created by Merganster Enterprises, Inc., show a movie theater, book store and a store marked “Home Goods” as the main stores. An additional strip at the back of the parcel would provide space for three other retail style “junior anchor” stores in the development. Three additional free standing shops would be located at the front of the development.
Two unnamed restaurants would be located at the far east corner of the development facing looking out over a retention pond with a plaza and waterfront gazebo. A walking trail around the pond is also shown, though that property is not formally owned by the developers.
The development plan also includes a stop light leading into the main entrance and large amounts of vacant green space along the road front to 98.
