According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, Michael Kenneth Laskowski, 20, of Navarre, was traveling westbound on the inside westbound lane of US Hwy 98 in a 2005 Chevy Cavalier at 2:50 a.m. on Sept. 15. The vehicle drifted to the left and the left side tire entered the center grass median. Laskowski attempted to steer back onto the roadway and lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle entered the eastbound lanes of US Hwy. 98 and flipped three times before striking a fence and landing inside a fenced area near the South Santa Rosa Service Center and America Avenue. According to the report, Laskowski was not wearing a seatbelt and it is unknown if the accident is alcohol related. Laskowski was taken to Baptist Hospital in critical condition.
