UPDATED Severe weather warnings continue

The National Weather Service in Mobile is forecasting a line of strong thunderstorms that will affect southern Santa Rosa County until 11:15 a.m.

Thunderstorms moving to the north of the Gulf of Mexico could be stronger, which “may suddenly produce a tornado.”

Wind gusts could reach 55 mph, which could blow off tree limbs. The NWS encourages residents to seek shelter until the storms have passed.

The National Weather Service, Mobile, Ala., is forecasting severe thunderstorms and possible flooding tonight into Sunday for Santa Rosa and surrounding counties.

The NWS said a warm front will move northward Sunday morning, bringing with it an organized line of storms heading eastward across the central Gulf Coast.

Severe weather, including heavy rain and possible isolated tornadoes, is expected to set in quickly. The NWS said the squall line will head east of Interstate 65 Sunday afternoon, when rains will decrease.
