Friday morning at 6:30 a.m. the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s office SWAT, Narcotics Unit and Major Crimes Detectives executed a judge-signed search warrant at 3286 Hwy. 87 in Holley. According to The Republic, a newspaper in Columbus, Indiana, the Bartholomew County Joint Narcotics enforcement team simultaneously served a related warrant at an address in Columbus.
Miles apart, both teams were searching for Miguel P. Santana, a 53 year-old Hispanic male who has three active warrants out of the state of Indiana for dealing in methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine. Santana was not at either residence at the time of the search warrant.
During the search, Santa Rosa deputies located a small amount of meth, marijuana, three guns and four meth labs.
At around 2:30 p.m. on Friday, a Houston, Texas, police officer stopped Santana for a minor traffic infraction and confirmed he had outstanding warrants. He was arrested and is waiting extradition to Indiana.
