The Holley-Navarre Fire District recently had its Insurance Service Office Public Protection Classification (PPC) rating upgraded from a Class 5/10 to a Class 4/4Y, effective Nov. 1. ISO classifies communities from 1 (the best) to 10 (the worst). The budget will fund prevention initiatives, equipment purchases, training and, most notably, an Opticom Emergency Vehicle Preparation system.
