Newly elected board members of the Holley-Navarre Water System (HNWS) voted Jan. 27 to conduct a recount of the Jan. 20 election results as requested by candidate Bryan Duncan, who lost a tight race.
“During the recent election I believe the margin of error is so close that a recount of the proxies and vote count is warranted,” Duncan stated in a letter he read aloud at the meeting.
Duncan also accused HNWS employee Clinton Wells of manipulating proxy votes while on company time. “I can prove that at least two proxies intended for me were taken by Mr. Clinton Wells and marked for use by Mr. Troy Bossier,” Duncan said.
