When Santa Rosa County Public Information Officer, Joy Tsubooka, left Escambia County eight years ago as a communication specialist, she was one of four other specialists. When she returns in November, she will be supervising as the community and media relations division manager.
Tsubooka feels she will be in an optimal place. “I’ll be living in the county I love and working in a larger community that will help me grow professionally,” she said.
Escambia County has nearly twice the population of Santa Rosa County at 310,659 versus Santa Rosa at 163,422.
According to a press release released by Escambia County, Tsubooka will oversee the accurate and timely dissemination of information to residents and media to heighten awareness of Escambia County Board of Commissioners’ mission, programs, policies, initiatives and services. Tsubooka begins her employment Monday, Nov. 2.
