If all of Navarre’s registered voters living in Holley by the Sea had shown up at the polls during last year’s special election, that single voting district, known as precinct 34, could have decided the entire election by nearly 100 votes, based on Supervisor of Elections data.
This highlights two things.
First, voter turnout, especially for local midterm elections, in Santa Rosa County is far lower than it could be. Second, the Navarre area has the potential to rule all of Santa Rosa County’s elections just on sheer size of population.
