School and law enforcement officials received word last night that a student may bring a gun to school today. Principal Brian Noack sent a message to parents at 10:16 a.m. alerting them to the threat, which officials said is unconfirmed.
The high school had an increased police presence this morning, however, Santa Rosa Deputy Rich Aloy said he does not believe the threat is credible.
Aloy said weapons were not found at the school, but an investigation is ongoing.
School was not on lockdown and students were not told to go home, however many either left in their own cars or were picked up by their parents.
Aloy said depending on what they learn today, deputies may be back at school tomorrow.
We will update this story as more information becomes available.
