Two helicopter pilots were transferred to Santa Rosa Medical Center following a flight “mishap” that took place at 5:10 p.m. at NOLF Spencer in Pace.
Initial reports from the scene indicate that the Training Air Wing FIVE helicopter rolled on its right side while landing, according to Jay Cope, NAS Whiting Field public affairs officer. Cope said the two pilots exited the helicopter on their own accord. The pilots were evaluated by NAS Whiting Field EMS personnel, and were transported to Santa Rosa Medical for a routine evaluation.
The incident is still being investigated and further details will be released as they become available.
