Navarre missing girl returned to family

Emily Navarro, age 12, who was reported missing May 14 was safely returned to her family May 15 after disappearing from Flintwood Street the day before.

A Missing Child Alert was issued for Navarro by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement May 14 after she allegedly left her home in the company of Jeremy Acevedio Sierra, 18. Sierra also goes by the name Armando Castron Murcia.

Sheriff Bob Johnson said the victim and Sierra had been communicating via social media prior to her disappearance. Navarro did not have a cell phone that could be tracked Johnson said.

The pair were found at 4:30 p.m. at a rest stop along I-65 in Montgomery County.

Navarro was uninjured and has been returned to her parents Johnson said.

Sierra is currently being held in Montgomery County Jail in Alabama as a fugitive from justice. He will be transferred to Santa Rosa County Jail.
