Ervin Edward Gras, 73, of the 9100 block of Quail Roost Drive, was arrested May 8 on a first-degree felony charge of sexual assault by a custodian with a victim between the ages of 12 and 18 years old.
According to the report, in November 2014 Gras engaged in three counts of sexual battery without the victim’s consent. The victim reported the incidents to law enforcement on Nov. 13, 2014, stating the abuse occurred for roughly one year; the most recent incident took place Nov. 11, the victim said.
The victim provided a detailed account of the incidents, stating Gras had used a condom that date, reporting he “always” did. The victim told a detective the condom was discarded into a trash can in the bathroom. Police obtained a search warrant and located the condom in the trashcan.
Florida Department of Law Enforcement determined the DNA on the condom matched the victim and the suspect, who denied any incident of sex with the victim.
Gras is being held on $250,000 bond.
