Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Navarre man Nov. 11 for allegedly kissing and groping a minor.
Oscar Camacho, 62, is charged with misdemeanor battery and felony child abuse in connection with the incident.
According to the arrest report, the victim was crying and appeared scared and distraught when giving her statement. She told deputies she was watching TV in the living room when Camacho allegedly came into the room and asked her if she was OK.
He then allegedly attempted to kiss the victim. She told him no and pushed him away. According to the report, Camacho then forced his hand under the victim’s shirt and groped her breast. The victim continued to tell Camacho no and that he should not do that.
He then allegedly made sexually explicit statements to the victim before eventually leaving to his room.
The victim then retreated to a different room in the residence and called for help.
In his sworn statement to deputies, Camacho initially denied entering the living room. He then changed his story saying he did enter the living room to check on the victim but denied the allegations.
Camacho remains in Santa Rosa County Jail on GPS hold. His bond has been set at $11,000.
