The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office and Midway Fire Department responded to the 6 a.m. fire according to a Sheriff’s Office press release. The blaze was contained to one unit in Building 11 of the complex. No injuries were reported, but damages to the unit are estimated at $50,000.

John Davis, a resident of the building said in an email to Navarre Press, “The response from the fire department was overwhelming. They saved the building but more importantly they saved people’s lives. A few more minutes and the building may have been lost with possible injuries or death.”
