The wait is almost over for residents of the small community of Holley who have been anxiously awaiting the reopening of its only convenience store. The food mart and gas station will open Tuesday — under new management but with a familiar face.
Connie Clark, whose great-grandparents for decades owned and operated Holley’s sole community store, the Jot ’em Down store, has been selected as store manager of the former Tom Thumb store which closed last year.
Clark, who grew up in Holley, was a manager for Tom Thumb stores for 9 years, working part of that time at the Holley store.
“I’m back,” Clark said with enthusiasm.
