Ken Walker, general manager of Holley-Navarre Water System, Inc., said the company is in the middle of switching from brass meters to plastic meters in an effort to protect against lead.
“We need to account for all the water we sell,” he said. “These meters will account for 100 percent of the water.”
Walker said the brass meters didn’t pick up low-flowing water, but the plastic ones record every leak and drip in a house.
