Gun stolen from Gulf Breeze car

The Gulf Breeze Police Department reported a loaded Ruger handgun was taken from an unlocked car at a home on Florida Avenue on Dec. 17.

According to Chief Deputy Rick Hawthorne, the case is under investigation.

The department is reminding people to keep their car doors locked and to keep valuables out of sight following two smash and grabs.

Police received a complaint on Dec. 17 from a woman who said her window was busted and her purse was stolen in the CVS parking lot, 225 Gulf Breeze Parkway. A similar theft occurred at Gulf Breeze Post Office on Dec. 18.
