Gov. Rick Scott visited Pensacola May 8 and announced the activation of the Florida Disaster Fund. It helps Floridians who have been impacted by disasters by providing a mechanism for businesses and individuals who seek to support critical local recovery efforts.
“Last week I saw first-hand the devastation that recent flooding has left behind in Florida’s Panhandle. Floridians and businesses have already stepped up to help their neighbors, and activating the Florida Disaster Fund is the next step in the ongoing recovery efforts,” Scott said in a press release. “Through the Florida Disaster Fund, we can leverage donations for long-term assistance.”
