Republican Rick Perry, former Governor of Texas, May 13 paid a visit to Navarre, testing the waters for a possible 2016 Presidential bid. Perry told attendees he would make the decision within 30 days.
Around 75 invited guests attended the reception hosted by the Republican Party of Santa Rosa County.
Perry said a key motivator for him to consider joining the race is the treatment of U.S. veterans. He also touted his record for job creation, prison reform and education and discussed foreign policy issues.
“We judge people on their records…show me, don’t tell me,” Perry said, pointing out 1.5 million jobs were created in the Lone Star State from 2007-2014.
