A former Santa Rosa County teacher arrested April 18 on a DUI charge made an early plea deal, receiving one year’s probation. Additionally, a third-degree felony count for cruelty against a child was dropped by prosecutors.
Laura Vaughn Sullivan, 36, was temporarily reassigned from a teaching position at Hobbs Middle School to the district’s Professional Development Center following her arrest on charges of first-degree misdemeanor DUI and third-degree felony cruelty toward a child.
Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Lewis Lynn said Sullivan resigned from her position with the district in November.
