Gov. Rick Scott has declared this week, Jan. 5 through 9, Florida First Responder Appreciation Week.
Scott is encouraging Florida’s counties and community partners to show first responders and their families how much residents value their service.
In a letter to Florida officials, Scott wrote “As our state continues to mourn the recent loss of law enforcement officers, we are reminded that our law enforcement officers, firefighters, and paramedics face dangerous and uncertain situations every day. For their bravery and selflessness, we owe them our gratitude and appreciation.”
Scott said this week is “a great opportunity” to thank the first responders who protect Floridians and keep them safe.
