Faced with a disputed request to fund the annual sand sculpting festival, Santa Rosa County Commissioners decided the best approach was to wait.
The board last week delayed the decision on whether or not to allocate $80,000 for the annual Navarre Beach Sand Sculpting Festival.
After receiving mixed reviews from the public regarding the festival’s proposed sponsorship, commissioners postponed their vote until they can gather more information about the event, which was previously funded through certain BP grants related to the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Those grants are no longer available.
