A two car wreck at the intersection of Edgewood Drive and U.S. Highway 98 claimed the life of 26 year old Richard G. Litterst of Navarre.
The Florida Highway Patrol report says that Litterst was driving his 2008 Chevy Cobalt south on Edgewood Drive and approached the red traffic light at the intersection. At the same time, Geri Morse of Navarre was driving her 2002 Chevy Silverado west on U.S. Highway 98 approaching the intersection with a green traffic light.
According to the report, Litterst disregarded the traffic signal, drove around stopped traffic and proceeded south into the intersection of U.S. Highway 98. As both vehicles entered the intersection the front of Litterst’s vehicle collided with the left side of Morse’s truck.
Litterst was transported to Gulf Breeze Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Morse and her two children, ages 1 and 2, all had minor injuries as noted on the report, however were not transported to the hospital.
