For the third time in recent months Santa Rosa County and the City of Gulf Breeze are at odds, this time over a share of tourist development funds that exceed $100,000 annually.
The county has a long history of remitting to Gulf Breeze the bed tax money generated by the city’s hotels—a total of $801,178 since 1999. But this month, the county withheld the tourist money, said Gulf Breeze City Manager Edwin “Buz” Eddy.
That sharing is authorized, but not required, by state statute.
