County sets meetings to update mitigation plans

Santa Rosa County officials are planning two public meetings to aid revision of the county’s local mitigation strategy plan, which is updated every five years. The meetings will also serve to revise the county’s flood mitigation plan.

According to the county’s website, the plan, required by the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000, addresses natural hazards which could cause costly disasters and potentially endanger the health and safety of residents or jeopardize the economy.
