Country on the Sound moves to marine park

Following concerns about traffic and parking, Navarre Family Watersports has scrapped its plan to host Country on the Sound at its U.S. 98 location and instead has requested the use of Navarre Beach Marine Park.

The concert, scheduled for Sept. 25 and 26, will feature local acts and two headliners: Trace Adkins and Big & Rich.

Permits have not yet been secured, but Greg Britton, owner of Navarre Family Watersports, will go before the Santa Rosa County Board of Commissioners Monday morning to request use of the park as well as the beach, parking lot and boat ramp parking. Britton is also asking for an alcohol permit, permission to play music until 1:30 a.m., food vendors, mechanical bulls, and much more.

Britton’s proposal states that 20 percent of all profits will be donated to the Blackhawk Memorial.
