The Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners will host a pre-budget workshop Tuesday, June 9, at 1:30 p.m. in the commission meeting room, 6495 Caroline St. in Milton. The meeting offers the board and other constitutional officers an opportunity to ask questions and discuss issues that may impact the upcoming 2015-16 budget, which runs on a fiscal year of Oct. 1 to Sept. 30.
The budget process also includes the following steps before the fiscal year 2015-16 budget is finalized and approved by the board:
Tentative budget is due to the board of county commissioners Monday, July 13
Budget workshop with constitutional officers on Tuesday, July 21, at 9 a.m. and board of county commission departments at 1:30 p.m.
The property appraiser mails TRIM, or truth in millage notices, which shows proposed property tax rates to residents on or before Aug. 24
Two public hearings – the first on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 6 p.m. and the final on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 6 p.m.
All workshops are open to the public and held in the commission meeting room located at 6495 Caroline Street. The meetings are also streamed live and available for replay at www.santarosa.fl.gov.
