Next week will be a busy one for Santa Rosa County Commissioners. In addition to Tuesday’s 2015-2016 budget workshops, the board has several hot topics on its agendas.
Commissioners will be briefed Monday by recruiters hired to solicit a new county administrator. They’ll also discuss issues which could be moved forward for action Thursday, including whether or not to support adding the proposed Navarre pedestrian overpass project back into the Florida Department of Transportation’s five-year work plan.
The board is also expected to further discuss the possible purchase of 70 acres of Tiger Point Golf Course from the City of Gulf Breeze as part of an official conflict resolution aimed to resolve failed promises by the municipality to upgrade the facility.
Additionally, at Thursday night’s rezoning meeting the board will discuss a conditional use to allow development of 19.2 acres adjacent to Baptist Medical Park in Navarre which would feature 180 multifamily resident units, a senior assisted living facility, an Andrews Institute rehabilitation center and retail stores. Commissioners will also consider approval of a 936-square-foot expansion of Twelve Oaks Alcohol & Drug Treatment Center.
