Santa Rosa County District 2 Commissioner Bob Cole was scheduled June 5 for a mandatory hearing before County Judge Jose Giraud for a non-criminal Sunshine Law violation charge filed March 12 by State Attorney Bill Eddins.
According to Assistant State Attorney Greg Marcille, Cole requested a delay, and the mandatory hearing has been rescheduled for October 2. Marcille said that is the next date available for “infraction” hearings.
Santa Rosa County Public Information Officer Joy Tsubooka June 5 said Cole was on vacation.
The charge came after Cole was accused of discussing with a fellow member the nomination of Milton resident Kim Macarthy to the City of Milton’s Downtown Redevelopment Advisory Board (DRAB) — prior to that group’s January 15 public meeting. Ultimately Milton attorney Laura Spencer Coleman was appointed to the DRAB.
