Commissioners will vote Thursday to restructure the fee schedule for use of public facilities and parks to be comparable with other counties.
After months of debate, the board decided to exclude “open spaces” in those parks from the fees to protect existing not for profit events.
Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce CEO, Judy Morehead, said the events in question are not money makers for the groups that put them on and many would cease to exist if the fees were charged. Morehead sent a letter on behalf of the chamber that acknowledged events throughout the county put on by several organizations.
