Santa Rosa County Commissioners March 26 approved the preliminary plat for a large subdivision planned for Soundside Drive. Critics say stormwater issues in the low-lying area could be problematic.
“Water quality folks are very concerned; so am I,” District 4 Commissioner Rob Williamson said at the board’s March 23 committee meeting. “I’ll be interested in specifics of how stormwater is maintained.”
Don Richards, past president of the United Peninsula Association, a group of nearly two dozen south Santa Rosa County homeowner associations, also spoke at the meeting.
