Pensacola Beach already has its estimates for beach renourishment and the cost is 8 percent lower than the estimate for Navarre Beach’s renourishment.
Robert Coley is just one of many Navarre Beach leaseholders who will be footing a good portion of the bill, and he wants the county look into the cost difference. Coley also wants the Municipal Service Benefit Unit (MSBU) to be equitable among all property owners on Navarre Beach, including the county as a property owner.
“Twenty-six percent of the beach frontage is county owned, including the county park, the pier, the walkovers,” he said. “Please take the 26 percent out of the formula before you split our portion 50-50 because that will make it a lot more palatable.”
