It’s that time of year. Migratory ground nesting shorebirds, such as black skimmers, are back – some from as far away as South America. As a result, local speed limits along beach roads have been reduced.
Stretches of Earle Bowden Way, which runs through Gulf Islands National Seashore connecting Navarre and Pensacola beaches, have already been lowered to 20 miles per hour.
